I got the Classic Tonkatsu lunch special (m-f, 11-5) which was the standard price "plus $5". The options were: drink, gyoza, toppings - which you get to pick 2 from. I got toppings + gyoza, which came with 3 dumplings. I also added a genamiacha tea. So first off, seeing toppings as an option made me realize that the ramen doesn't already come with toppings?? If I'd ordered according to how the Tonkotsu was pictured on the sign outside, I'd have been really disappointed when it arrived. Additionally, if you get the toppings option for the lunch, you only get a "half serving" (ie. 1/2 egg), which to me is unnecessarily stingy.. Typing all of this is making me realizing that the lunch deal doesn't really feel like a deal at all...Which leads me to what I didn't like about this place - that they nickel and dime you. At every other ramen place I've ever been to in my life, a bowl straight off the menu includes egg, meat, mushroom, bamboo and seaweed at in the standard price. Here they charge you $1.25 - $2 per topping, which is kinda wild. The ramen was good, don't get me wrong! I ate up every drop. And I do like that they allow you to customize your ramen in terms of noodle thickness, noodle doneness, how rich/thick you want your broth, how spicy. They have oils and garlic on the table as well. Typically, I leave a ramen place feeling stuffed. I didn't here so I do think that the portion size is on the small side. They have an option to add on more noodles - (it's recommended to order when you're halfway done) but because the bowl and broth are already so small...I just don't see the vision. I saw people saying the service here was not so great, but I was literally the only person dining in so it would've been kinda hard to forget about me. I visited the restroom and it was well stocked and clean. I'd eat here again if I were in the area, but am more inclined to want to see what better options the city has to offer.

Came in here with friends on a weekday night! I got the Miso Ramen-standard on everything! 3.5/5- I feel like the broth could've been better even if it was the standard. The noodles were delicious and the pork too! Gyoza-3/5- we got the vegan gyoza. It could've h been more fried but I think that's their concept of being vegan. However, the filling inside was pretty okay for what it's worth. Overall- I would come back here for their tomato ramen. It does seem intriguing! The servers were really nice and attentive. This place had a lot of seating as well but you can't really charge your phones unless you ask the server.

Ramen Danbo is in the cutest neighborhood, we happened to go on a day when they were out of sliced chashu but that didn't hurt our experience. I am vegetarian and always hate when ramen places only have one option for me when it's food that i believe is very easy to make vegan/vegetarian so i appreciated there multiple veggie friendly options. My boyfriend got the pork rice bowl and lived it. The service was efficient and fast, thankfully we went around 330-4 so were able to get right in but i imagine it must get busier in the night. The restaurant is smaller but has options for booths or a bar area but didn't give you a cramped or claustrophobic feeling. Definitely recommend !

Ramen Danbo serves Fukuoka style Ramen that is not only delicious but affordable in NYC. I've had ramen from many different establishments like Ippudo, Ramen Misoya, Ichiran, and even some local spots in Japan. It's always a treat when I can come here as the ramen is always good. I ordered the Negi-goma Rekka Ramen. I'm a big fan of spice and the Rekka Ramen does a great job of giving you that additional kick. The noodles were slightly firm and the broth gave me flashbacks of my trip to Japan. Overall one of my favorite spots to get ramen in NYC.
